$83,000 Recovered in Fast Food Slip and Fall Injury

$83,000 Recovered in Fast Food Slip and Fall Injury

Our client in this case was eating dinner at a fast food restaurant in Dallas, Georgia. While at the restaurant, he went to use the restroom and slipped in a clear, wet substance on the bathroom floor. He fell to the ground, landing on the hard tile flooring, and suffering immediate injuries to his lower back.

There were no wet floor signs or warnings in place in or near the bathroom. It was only upon exiting the bathroom that our client could see a wet floor sign leaning up against a wall beside the trash can.

As a result of the fall, our client experienced back pain, as well as pain in various places on the right side of his body. He attempted to go home and rest, but the pain became so severe that he eventually had to go to the ER that same night.

In the weeks following the fall, our client continued to experience lower back pain and was diagnosed with a sprain of the ligaments of his lumbar spine and dysfunction of the lumbar, sacral, and pelvic regions. Our client was instructed by his physician to see a chiropractor and undergo electrical stimulation and therapeutic exercise.

Unfortunately, following these recommendations did not alleviate our client’s pain, and he was eventually given an MRI, which revealed bulging discs in his middle and lower back. The reviewing radiologist opined the herniated discs were, more likely than not, related to the slip-and-fall incident.

Personal injury attorney Bill Daniel represented our client in this case. He sent a demand letter to the fast food restaurant’s insurance company and successfully recovered a settlement of $83,000 for our client.
