I am Janice Fahy and I am a litigation paralegal here at Champion Firm. I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and went to a small private school there for 12, went to Tennessee, then moved to Atlanta. I majored in English and minored in Religion, so I didn't necessarily know what I wanted to do, and I didn't have anyone in my family that did anything with the law, so I didn't know much about it. But from the moment I was hired in my early 20s as a paralegal I loved everything about the profession and that's never gone away from me. I know a lot of people who are not excited to go to their job everyday. I was hired as a paralegal for the first time when I was 22 at a firm downtown. With no experience, the attorney and paralegal there taught me everything I know. I eventually left there and went to a bigger firm, which I didn't really enjoy. I like working at a firm of this size much better where I get more client contact. I did take a small break when I had children, so it's been interesting to come back into and see how things have changed. Before, everything revolved around knowing where certain documents and forms were located. Now everything is digital.
I have two teenage boys so I'm pretty busy with them. I've been married to my husband for almost 20 years. We hike a lot and we like to go to the ocean. I enjoy gardening and I am also a catechist at my church.
