$85,000 Settlement Reached in Attempted Hit-And-Run Accident

$85,000 Settlement Reached in Attempted Hit-And-Run Accident

In this case, our client was in her vehicle, stopped at a red light on Cobb Parkway in Cobb County, Georgia. Another driver directly behind her failed to stop at the light and rear-ended our client’s vehicle. After the collision, the other driver got out of his car briefly, but then fled the scene of the collision without exchanging all proper insurance information. He gave our client the vehicle’s registration, parked his car at a nearby theater, and continued to walk away without waiting for the police or providing insurance information. Our client’s daughter was able to flag down a nearby police officer, who ran the registration information and was able to pull the insurance information of the at-fault driver. Our client filed an incident report with the officer.

Following the collision, our client complained of neck pain and headaches, along with sensitivity to light and difficulty speaking. She was later diagnosed as having suffered a concussion and suffered migraines and pain in her lower back. In total, our client’s medical bills were approximately $27,000.

Thanks to the work of attorney Andrienne McKay and The Champion Firm team, we were able to prove the other driver’s negligence in this case and argue the potential for punitive damages, reaching a settlement of $85,000 for our client.
