$1.4 Million Recovered for Pedestrian Hit by Jeep Driver

$1.4 Million Recovered for Pedestrian Hit by Jeep Driver

In this case, our client was injured while attempting to cross an intersection using the designated crosswalk.

As our client entered the crosswalk, a driver in a Jeep Wagoneer failed to look both ways before attempting to make a turn and drove into the crosswalk our client was occupying, violently hitting her with his vehicle. The at-fault driver was cited by police as failing to yield to a pedestrian.

As one might imagine, our client suffered debilitating injuries as a result of being hit with the vehicle. She was taken by ambulance to Wellstar North Fulton Hospital and admitted in critical condition.

She had a significant laceration on her right foot and ankle, a degloving laceration of her left foot which caused a portion of her skin to be stripped away, and yet another serious laceration on the right, back side of her scalp. She also had an intense headache and excruciating pain in both legs.

Our client had to immediately undergo extensive imaging and wound treatment procedures, followed by surgery the next day. The process to heal from the injuries caused by the at-fault driver was a long and challenging one, and she incurred over $182,000 in hospital bills.

In addition to the overwhelming physical injuries our client suffered, she also experienced life-altering mental and emotional challenges as a result of the collision, being forced to spend nearly all of her time after the incident in emergency and inpatient treatment centers. She could not work nor enjoy any kind of normal life, lived in fear of the permanence of her injuries, and experiences ongoing stress and mental anguish as a result of the sudden collision.

Personal injury attorney Darl Champion took on this case for our client and succeeded in recovering a settlement of $1,400,000 for her.
