Meet some of the past recipients of our Georgia Future Champions Scholarship!

Fall 2025 Scholarship Winner: Mauricio

As a first-generation college student, lifelong Metro Atlanta resident, and Mechanical Engineering major at Georgia Tech, Mauricio has poured heart, determination, and grit into every step of his academic journey.

Thanks to this $5,000 scholarship, Mauricio says he can move forward with less financial stress and an even better focus on finishing his degree on a strong note.

Spring 2024 Scholarship Winner: May

May is a highly accomplished wrestler. She is the first-ever GHSA Female Wrestling Champion as well as the first two-time GHSA Female Wrestling State Champion at Lassiter, and the first female competitor from Cobb County to become an NHSCA National Champion. She is also the first female wrestler from Georgia to make a USA U17 World Team.

In addition to becoming a mechanical engineer, May plans to continue advancing her wrestling career at Wartburg, which is a Division III school. Her goal is to become the first NCAA Women’s Champion for the college.
