Amanda Claxton grew up in the small town of Kite, Georgia. She discovered her interest in law while in college, where she studied English and developed a love for research, writing, and learning. Law school felt like a natural fit, and she went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law.
While at Mercer, Amanda was a member of the Mercer Law Review, where she published two articles before graduating. She was also involved in the Rural Law Student Association, which is an organization that advocates for increased legal representation in rural areas. She served as president of the Association during her 3L year of law school. Her own background living in rural communities shaped her passion for ensuring that those without easy access to legal services still have a voice and a path to justice.

Amanda’s favorite part of being an attorney is assisting clients resolve issues they cannot handle on their own and helping them move forward. She especially appreciates that personal injury law focuses on helping people from all walks of life get justice in challenging circumstances.
Recently relocated to the Atlanta area, Amanda has enjoyed exploring the city’s diverse cultures, vibrant arts and theater scene, and exceptional food. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, James, as well as reading, cooking, and caring for her many plants. She is also a proud pet owner to Matilda the cat, Teddy the yorkie, and Gary the leopard gecko.
Amanda is excited to join The Champion Firm and looks forward to serving clients throughout the Atlanta area with skill, compassion, and dedication.
