Amanda Claxton grew up in the small town of Kite, Georgia. While studying English in college, she developed a love for research, writing, and learning, which sparked her interest in the legal field. Amanda graduated from Young Harris College and then earned her Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law.
While at Mercer University School of Law, Amanda was a member of the Mercer Law Review, where she published two articles before graduating. She was also involved in the Rural Law Student Association, which is an organization that advocates for increased legal representation in rural areas. Her experience living in rural communities inspired a passion for ensuring that those without ready access to legal services still have a voice and a path to justice.

Amanda’s favorite part of being an attorney is helping clients navigate difficult situations and move forward with confidence. She especially appreciates that personal injury law allows her to advocate for people from all walks of life during some of their most challenging moments.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, James, and their son, Spencer. Having recently settled in the Atlanta area, Amanda loves exploring the city’s diverse cultures, trying foods from around the world, and visiting local parks. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and caring for her collection of plants.
Amanda is a proud pet owner of Matilda the cat, Teddy the yorkie, and Gary the leopard gecko. A fun fact about Amanda is that she was the first female attorney sworn in at the Johnson County Superior Court in Georgia.
Amanda is excited to join The Champion Firm and looks forward to serving clients throughout the Atlanta area with skill, compassion, and dedication.
