Although Brendan moved around quite a bit as a child, he moved to Georgia more than 30 years ago when he was stationed at Ft. Benning (now Ft. Moore), GA for his initial training as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer following his graduation from the United States Military Academy (West Point). He was then stationed at Ft. Stewart, GA near Savannah. He served there as an Infantry Officer in the 3rd Infantry Division before transferring again to Camp Frank D. Merrill in Dahlonega, GA, where he served as an instructor at the U.S. Army’s Ranger School.

After serving in the Army, Brendan went to law school at the University of Georgia. During law school, Brendan was a member of the Moot Court Team, Journal of Intellectual Property Law, and Order of the Coif. As a third-year law student, Brendan was also a research assistant for the Dean of the Law School and participated in the Prosecutorial Clinic in the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor’s office, where he was able to prosecute and try misdemeanor criminal cases.

Brendan's Background

After graduating from law school magna cum laude, Brendan and his family moved to Atlanta, where Brendan worked for two of the top firms in the country defending products liability, toxic tort, mass tort, medical negligence, and other personal injury cases in Georgia and around the country. In handling those cases, Brendan developed particular expertise simplifying complex questions of causation in cases that depend on expert testimony.

As a defense attorney, Brendan consistently provided pro bono legal representation to individuals in need who couldn’t afford to hire an attorney. As a result, Brendan finally realized that helping individuals in need was his true calling, and switched to being a plaintiff’s attorney operating on a contingency fee basis:

“The satisfaction I got representing individuals was so rewarding that I finally decided to switch sides of the ‘v’ so that I could dedicate the rest of my career to making a real difference in people’s lives.”

His favorite part about being a personal injury attorney is advocating for clients and digging into complex factual, scientific, and legal questions. He is passionate about getting to the bottom of interesting questions of law and uncovering the facts of each case.

Brendan has been involved with the Georgia Asylum Immigration Network (GAIN), Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF), West Point Society Society of Atlanta, Mary Lin Education Foundation, and the Dupont Commons Homeowners’ Association. He has also been a Parent Coach at Grady (now Midtown) High School and Inman (now Howard) Middle School, and has volunteered at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. He also remains active in the veteran community and is passionate about helping veterans with legal issues.

In his free time, Brendan enjoys cooking, eating at great restaurants, going to live music shows, and watching UGA football. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his significant other and their five daughters, as well as getting outside with his two energetic dogs.
