Mary Payton Blackmon

Raised in Cobb County, Mary Payton Blackmon graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in International Affairs. She became interested in the legal field after taking a tutorial on international law while studying abroad at Oxford University. As a legal assistant, she works personally with pre-litigation personal injury clients and assists The Champion Firm’s paralegal and attorney teams. Detail-oriented and customer-service minded, Mary Payton enjoys getting to know our clients and helping make their life a bit easier during a challenging time.

Outside of work, Mary Payton is heavily involved with volunteer work through the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, an organization that provides service dogs to people who are visually impaired or veterans with disabilities. Over the past nine years, she has raised six service dogs in training and helped oversee the training of many more in the Athens, GA area.

In addition, she enjoys spending time reading, traveling, and hiking with her dog, Zappa, who was originally raised as a SDiT and adopted later.
