Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the most dangerous holidays for motorists. This year there were 14 deaths in Georgia car accidents during the Thanksgiving holiday period, which ran from 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at midnight. One of those fatalities involved an accident that claimed the life of 12 year-old Allison Beasley, who was killed on I-285 in Atlanta in a six-car crash. As Christmas approaches and people continue to travel to spend time with family and loved ones, make sure you use extra caution. While you cannot always control the actions of other drivers, you can do everything in your power to make sure you arrive safely at your destination. Be alert to your surroundings, practice defense driving, do not text and drive, and be patient.
