Big Law Firms Aren’t Better, Just Louder

When I saw this in a Morgan & Morgan ad the other night, I had to rewind it:

“I didn’t want to hire a smaller law firm who insurance companies would have a better chance of winning against.”

Let’s call that what it is: It’s misleading marketing.

The idea that lawyers at smaller firms are somehow worse or that insurance companies “fear” billboard firms? Please.

And here’s the funny part. When big firms mock smaller ones, it’s “just marketing.”

But when smaller firms push back or point out the truth about large firms that have hundreds of cases per lawyer and have terrible client experiences, suddenly it’s “unprofessional,” “jealousy,” or we’re just haters.

You can’t take shots at everyone else and then clutch your pearls when someone fires back.

If you’re going to build your brand on tearing down smaller firms, own it.

But don’t pretend you’re above criticism when someone calls out your assembly-line approach to justice, forced arbitration clauses for clients, and bad customer service.

Because let’s be real: the size of your ad budget doesn’t make you a better lawyer. It just makes you louder.

And the best trial lawyers I know? Most of them work at smaller firms.
