We’re thrilled to welcome Umber Patel back to The Champion Firm as an intern this summer! If her name sounds familiar, it’s because Umber worked with us as a legal assistant before heading off to law school. She’s now a JD candidate at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, where she’s heading into her second year.
During her internship with us, Umber will be assisting with a variety of work around the firm: conducting legal research for cases, drafting documents, and lending a hand wherever it’s needed. She told us she’s especially excited to apply everything she’s learned in her first year of law school to real cases, and we’re excited to see her put that knowledge into action.
Umber earned her undergraduate degree from Georgia State University, where she studied Business Marketing at the Robinson College of Business. With her background in both law and business, she brings a well-rounded and thoughtful perspective to her work.
At John Marshall, Umber is active in the Student Bar Association and the AJMLS chapter of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL). She’ll also be serving as GAWL’s social media coordinator this coming school year.
Originally from Johns Creek, Georgia, Umber was born and raised in the Atlanta area. Her mother, who was a closing attorney for many years, is her biggest inspiration and the reason she chose to pursue a career in law.
Outside of school and work, Umber stays busy with hobbies like reading, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time outdoors. Lately, she’s also been interested in breadmaking and is learning how to create a sourdough starter. (We haven’t tried her sourdough yet, but we’re hopeful someone will “accidentally” leave a fresh loaf in the kitchen soon!)
We’re so glad to have you back with us this summer, Umber!
