Lesley grew up in Kennesaw, GA, and began exploring opportunities in the legal field while she was an undergraduate student.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Kennesaw State University. While in college, she interned with the Georgia House of Representatives, an experience that gave her an early look into Georgia’s legal and political systems.
Lesley also studied abroad in Germany and Morocco. In Germany, she studied the political and economic structure of the European Union, while her time in Morocco focused on women’s empowerment and business opportunities. Both experiences broadened her understanding of different cultures, perspectives, and political and economic systems.
After applying for her first paralegal position, Lesley quickly discovered that she enjoyed the work and the opportunity to help people navigate the legal process, inspiring her to continue building her skillset as a paralegal.
Throughout her career, Lesley has developed a particular appreciation for the investigative side of legal work. She enjoys cases that challenge an initial understanding of the facts and give her an opportunity to dig deeper, examine the details, and consider different perspectives.
Just as importantly, she believes education is an essential part of serving clients. Because many personal injury clients are interacting with the legal system for the first time, Lesley prioritizes helping them understand what to expect at each stage and making sure they know they have someone they can rely on throughout the process.
One case that left a lasting impression on Lesley involved a teenage boy who suffered serious injuries after being attacked by multiple large dogs in his neighborhood. The case involved extensive medical treatment as well as an initial denial of coverage by the homeowner’s insurance carrier. Helping the family navigate the complexities of the case during an extremely difficult time reinforced for Lesley how rewarding it can be to make an overwhelming process a little easier for clients.
For Lesley, professional success means continuing to learn and finding ways to apply that knowledge to future challenges. She recognizes that the legal field is constantly evolving and believes being an effective advocate requires a commitment to continued growth. Working with clients from many different backgrounds has also strengthened her ability to communicate with and understand the individual needs of the people she serves.
As a member of the Latino community, Lesley is particularly mindful of how intimidating the legal system can feel when someone is unfamiliar with the process. She believes everyone deserves to understand their rights and options, regardless of their background, and she strives to be a dependable resource who can guide clients through each step with clarity and respect.
Outside of work, Lesley enjoys taking advantage of Atlanta’s concerts, farmers markets, and community events. An animal lover, she has fostered dogs through various organizations in the Atlanta area for several years and has two dogs of her own, Scooby and Mia. She also loves spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and camping when the weather allows. Traveling and discovering new foods are also among her favorite ways to spend her free time.
