In this case, our client was traveling on I-85 in Gwinnett County when traffic slowed. As she slowed and came around a curve in the road, a tractor-trailer traveling behind her failed to slow down and struck the rear of her vehicle.
The police officer responding to the scene determined that the truck driver was at fault for following too closely.
After the collision, our client sought medical treatment for neck, chest, and back pain, along with headaches. She was diagnosed with neck and back strain, along with post-traumatic headache, and was provided medication for pain relief.
In the weeks that followed, her symptoms persisted. She continued treatment for ongoing neck and back pain, including therapy aimed at improving mobility and reducing discomfort. Despite consistent care, she continued to experience pain in her neck, mid-back, and lower back.
Further imaging revealed disc protrusions in her lumbar spine with nerve involvement. Additional evaluation identified ongoing issues in her cervical spine. She continued treatment but, even after months of care, continued to experience pain that affected her daily activities, including sleeping and driving.
Attorney Bill Daniel represented our client in this case and secured a $145,000 settlement for her.
