Karen Slater

As a consummate client advocate in her role as a Litigation Paralegal at The Champion Firm, P.C. by day,

Karen Slater transforms into a social media aficionado and a tamer of two feisty, yet highly entertaining cats by night. Relentless in her pursuit of the perfect client experience, she takes great pride in helping people make their way through every step of the litigation process with confidence.

After receiving a B.A. from Emory University and M.A from American University both in Political Science and a Paralegal Certificate from the National Center for Paralegal Training, Karen went on to work for prestigious firms such as King & Spalding and Coca-Cola as well as the Georgia Senate Research Office, to name a few. Her innate compassion for people and big heart have undoubtedly helped her build strong, successful relationships with the clients whom she has had the pleasure to serve over the past 20+ years. Like many of her colleagues at The Champion Firm, helping others in need is simply in her DNA.

Born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia, Karen has been proud to call Atlanta home since 1985 (minus a 2.5-year detour to Washington D.C in the early ’90’s and another year-long trip to Denver in the late 90s). In the early 2010s, she launched a successful social media business serving clients such as Maid Brigade, Broken Sound Club, American Sentinal University, and more. She even co-founded a prominent online social media resource with CNN contributor and Atlanta marketing guru Jamie Turner called “60-Second University.”

When she’s not working hard to generate equitable outcomes for her clients, you can often find her at home binge-watching CNN, Netflix, HGTV or surfing one of her many social media channels to stay 110% current with everything going on in the world. She loves traveling, reading, blogging, decorating her home, living the empty-nester lifestyle with her loving husband, and enjoying precious quality time with her two amazing children and equally-awesome step-daughters.
